Weston Robot is proud to have Dr Zhang Yanliang, Weston Robot's Chief Scientist, take part in the Focus Collective Meeting for Touch Community Service. The gathering brought together voices from across the social service sector to reflect on how organisations can better support the communities they serve. We believe robotics and automation have a meaningful role to play in this space, not by replacing the human touch that community care depends on, but by helping social service teams extend their time, attention, and resources to where they matter most.

Dr Zhang shared Weston Robot's perspective on how autonomous systems and interactive technologies can support the operational side of community service work, freeing up staff and volunteers to focus on direct engagement with the people they help. The conversation touched on the practical realities facing social service organisations today, and how thoughtfully applied technology can ease operational strain without losing sight of the human relationships at the heart of this work. It was a chance to listen as much as to share.
